Net size calculator, by sport and by installation

Three shapes cover most sports netting: a goal net, a cage or practice lane, and a flat barrier run. Pick one, enter what you measured, and you get the developed net area panel by panel, in square metres and square feet, with the arithmetic shown.

Depth is never prefilled: measure it on your frame. Football’s Laws of the Game set the width and the height of a goal and stop there. Hockey and handball go further and set a minimum depth, in the same documents as their goal sizes, cited as the source under the preset. Either way the net has to fit the frame you actually have, and depth is where most replacement net errors start. Measure both depths on that frame: a net ordered on width and height alone will not fit.
